  • Recommended brake kit set up?

    Hello all,

It's been a while since I've been on here - I've since lived in California for a year and a half, but now I'm back with the Datsun in my built 4-car garage. I haven't done much work on it in a while - I was thinking of road tripping it down to California, before I took apart the rear drum brake and found the shoes heavily worn.

After finding a pretty good kit for a modest upgrade on the suspension, it's time for the brakes. I'd like rotors on all fours. and I like my 15" wheels. I don't need something super amazing - just responsive for road use. I would also maybe consider running dual calipers in the rear for much skiiiiiid action. Anyone have recommendations?

Good to have you back, Simey. Too bad Whitespeed isn't making his kits any more. It uses Lincoln LS calipers. I have it on my car and it is excellent.
we should lobby him to make some more.

I don't have time for it, but may be willing to partner with someone. Regardless, my kit unfortunately won't clear 15" wheels.

Was it for front and rear? What size rim would it fit in the front? 16"? I mean... I could maybe be convinced to buy a set of 16" banana spokes, but I like my 15" multi-X - it's a bit different.

What was the specialized piece in the kit? Some CNC aluminum adapter blocks for mounting the calipers?

My 16" Konig rewinds just barely clear. Nigel's kit is for the rear. Front I have the Toyota 4 Runner calipers with the Z31GL rotors. Tons of room, in fact the original steel wheels still fit.
