  • Carpet Underpadding Question

    Hi everyone,
So, I just recently purchased a carpet kit for my 510 and I want to install it soon.
I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what to use as underpadding and sound deadener for a reasonable price. I don't want to spend loads of money on that.
    Thanks.

    Enrique

At work, we use an underpadding that is like pressed fibres, in some cars. It works more as insulation, than sound deadening. I would still use a product like Dynamat, quietcar or Lizard Skin, then use this on top of that.

Check out the Dynamat like insulation / padding at Home Depot. Looks the same and its what I'm going to use - a lot less expensive than buying at a car / rod shop. Pick up a roll of 3M foil tape to seal the edges and any joints.

        Thanks

        Thank you guys.
I will stop by the Depot to check it out.
I have some of those pressed fibers pads right now.
        I will use both.
