  • 72 Driver's Side Door Needed

Would like to hear from anyone who has a Driver's Side Door for a 72 Datsun 240Z for sale (Including Glass & Internals).

Today a Dump Truck executed a perfect Low Speed PIT Maneuver and pushed me 60 feet down the road on his bumper before stopping.

Looks as though the door took the brunt of it. Hoping someone out there can help put my Z back together (again)

    Thanks... Andrew

Damn I saw a picture of that. Sorry to hear that happened. Car looks to be in great shape.

Thanks...I've been able to locate After Market (Metal) Door Shell plus Used Glass, Window Frame & Actuator; the rest of the door "components" pretty easily sourced but will contact Rick Scott @ Brantford Nissan next week. Will know Monday or Tuesday what the insurance company is prepared to do...as long as they don't "write it off" then should be good to rebuild again....the guys at Harse Autocraft are truly masters at their craft. Got lucky personally to walk away shaken but unharmed...and as I keep looking at the pictures and the way things happened I'm pretty confident the Unibody is OK given the low speed and nature of the collision; the door crumpling as it should in this type of construction. Will still need to take a ride on a Frame Table as it's first ride on the road to recovery. It drove way better front to back than left to right :-(

Sounds like you were close to the action. Glad you're ok.
70 to 73 will work for you. Got to be a 240Z

Damn, that's unfortunate. Glad you're OK! If the front glass was cracked I'd be worried about important stuff having shifted, but as you say it seems mostly just the door. At least the truck was high up enough as to not touch the rocker! That rear quarter damage won't be too much of a problem for a good shop.

Would be interested to hear what insurance says in the end, I hope to never be in that position with my Z but it would be interesting to know how bad the ins company thinks the damage is.

Thanks for the insight...defintiley no cracks in the windshield (which was new 3 years ago). Been pouring over all the images that were taken and driver's side door window frame also seems to be straight an "in place"...so down to needing a new door shell and window.. The rear quarter was repaired 3 years ago by my body guy who got hold of a proper repair panel. So feeling better that the car is repairable...now I just have to get over the trauma of the experience. If you ever do find yourself in this unenviable position just take your car to Harse Autocraft; can't say enough about these guys skills.
