  • 1976 280z for sale

Hey Guys, I'm thinking of selling the wifes 280z
We are expecting our first baby and hopefully one or two more after this one. So she will not be able to use this car for quite a few years to come.
I have totally restored this vehicle - striped down to bare metal and built it up from that. I have lots of pictures It has a Japan factory rebuilt 280 F54 block and E31 head and triple DCOE 40 on it
    Thinking between $18k and $20k

Testing the waters, I don't have to sell it But I am going to look for a vintage four seater??
    Thanks,
    Dean

Well congrats with the family start and I doubt you'll have any trouble selling it.

Dean, I remember going over that car when I came to buy the driver side glass couple of years ago. $18-20,000 is not unreasonable for the amount of work and detail on that car, it is a peach! The problem will be this market we are in. Have you ever thought about selling it overseas? Apparently there is a very good market for early Japanese steel with the oil guys.
and I don't mean "Nigerian Princes"
You might try Philip (Blue), http://ZSportCanada.com , I think he does overseas sales.

Nice car. I also have a 76 with flares and same wheels. its a great look and gets a ton of attention. I cannot stop at a light without someone asking me about the car...I've had people hanging out their windows on the freeway lol.
Hard to say as prices are all over the place. No doubt you have put at least that into it, speaking also from my own experience.
Expect people to negotiate, so if you ask that price, you will get offers for less from those who are 'serious' to buy. I was looking at a nice z awhile back, he was asking well over 20, I offered 18....refused my 'low' offer and I believe ended up selling for that or lower to someone else eventually. It all depends on how much the buyer wants it and how much the seller needs to sell right now. That price range also opens it up to a host of other cars so your buyer will have to be someone who really wants an older z, and is willing to pay.

Thanks Guys, I'm just putting it out there, I don't really want to sell it, but if the right offer came along... I am looking for a vintage 4 seater _____? and by selling this car it will fund the next project. I have 7 vehicles and 6 are 2 seaters...Thinking of the family now.
                  Cheers!

What else can you tell me about your car?
5spd.? Functioning AC installed? Suspension mods.? Etc.
I've owned two modded /73 240's in the past.

Because a S30 2+2 isnt really a vintage 4 seater. I wouldnt want to sit back there for long!

Dean, I like those red seats... where are they from?
A 2+2 Z doesn't have much room in the back... it's okay for kids and short trips but it's a joke to put two adults back there for any length of time. Same goes for most 2+2 sports cars including Infiniti G's.

I think someone has a need for the "White Whale"

One of only 2 known to exist -- 1974 Datsun 260Z 2+2, automatic, AC, Arizona car with (wait for it .....) a power sunroof.

The only other one I am aware of is at the Nissan headquarters in Tennessee.

                              Perfect for the growing family.
